Vision: Full participation in arts and cultural life for all South Australians.
Mission: To create opportunities for participation, employment, income generation and leadership for people with a disability in South Australia’s arts and cultural life.

Strategic Direction

Our Goals & Objectives
Goal 1: Facilitate sustainable opportunities for creative participation, leadership and employment in the arts and related industries.
- To build measurable participation and raise the profile of arts and disability by strategically partnering with organisations with common objectives building on existing programs and generating new services, opportunities and initiatives.
- To identify gaps and opportunities to facilitate the creative initiatives of individuals and organisations including incubation of new and inclusive arts activity projects and facilities.
- To broker training, work experience, mentoring, professional development and leadership opportunities for people with a disability and to identify pathways to employment in the arts and related industries.
- To facilitate the engagement and promotion of high calibre South Australian, Australian and International Disability Arts activity and facilitate accessible programming in key Festivals and events.
Goal 2: Communicate and foster arts and disability access and awareness
- To develop communication and information services that assists the people with a disability and the broader community to access the arts whether as an audience, participant or professional.
- To develop mechanisms to deliver culturally based disability access awareness to the Government, Community and Business sectors by providing services that meet their needs for Disability information that adheres to Government legislation or and enacts socially inclusive corporate or community policy.
- To develop a research and knowledge base including opportunities, issues and models to enable participation of people with a disability in the arts.
- To utilise digital and “new” media in accessible forms as a means to provide direct services and information resources for the cultural sector to assist the implementation of Disability Action Plans and improve accessibility and understanding of disability issues.
Goal 3: Govern and manage the organisation responsibly and provide quality services to our stakeholders
- To maintain a governance structure that is transparent, efficient, sustainable, accountable and builds the respect of our stakeholders and customers.
- To maintain a sustainable business model and partnerships that maximises and increases diversity of income sources, including corporate sponsorship and contracted fee for service.
- To ensure that staff has adequate organisational resources and professional training to service the needs of the organisation and its customers including the supervision of volunteers, project participants and Field Placements.
- To broker the development of cultural facilities and professional accommodation appropriate for needs of the short medium and long term requirements.

Exactly what does Arts Access SA do?
Arts Access SA is a service organisation for arts and disability in South Australia. AASA advocates to the arts sector, the disability sector and government for access to access, opportunities and participation in the state’s cultural life for all disabled people. We operate information and referral services for the sector and broader public and AASA also coordinates a targeted artistic program with a focus on leadership and showcasing.
What projects do you run for general participation?
Arts Access SA’s artistic program is targeted towards identified gaps in the disability arts sector in SA. For more information on our projects, visit our Projects page or contact us directly.
What volunteer opportunities can you provide?
Volunteers play an invaluable and intrinsic part in helping deliver Arts Access SA’s services to the sector and the community. We are always on the lookout for keen, passionate people to assist us at events, in the office or in supporting our projects. Email us to register your interest.
Does Arts Access SA fund external projects?
We are not a funding body and as such cannot provide financial assistance for external projects.
